Weight loss in middle age can restore cardiovascular health, research suggests
A UK study following people born in 1958 found that overweight adults who lost about 5% of their body weight in their 40s and 50s had heart and metabolic health at age 62 similar to those who had stayed a healthy weight. Researchers at University College London say even modest weight loss in middle age may lower the risk of heart problems and stroke.
