Dara McInerney, 16, from Mow Cop in Staffordshire, has set a record in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship by winning 14 of his 18 races this season. He and his father Craig built the car together, with Dara doing much of the engineering work himself.
Cambridge University professor Patrick Barrie retained his world tiddlywinks singles title after beating Dave Lockwood of the US in a seven-hour match at a pub in Cambridge. Barrie said he was pleased with the win, while Lockwood praised his opponent and said he was glad to have given him a good challenge.
