Planned tram strikes in Nottingham have been called off after a pay deal was approved by tram staff. The operator, Nottingham Express Transit, said the revised offer included a 3.7% pay rise and a 7% rise for the lowest paid roles, and that passengers can expect regular services to continue.
Two 88-year-olds, Barbara Thompson and Fred Jenkins, found love again at their retirement village in Sutton Coldfield after losing their spouses. They now train together, play games, dance, garden side by side and have enjoyed their first holiday together.
