Work has started on an £18m revamp of Dewsbury Market, which will keep its distinctive glazed roof and metal structure. The project will also create a new town park, outdoor events space, children's play area and water fountains, with completion expected in early 2028.
Two 88-year-olds, Barbara Thompson and Fred Jenkins, found love again at their retirement village in Sutton Coldfield after losing their spouses. They now train together, play games, dance, garden side by side and have enjoyed their first holiday together.
