Archie Thompson, 24, from Chesterfield, who was born with a rare genetic condition and once not expected to reach four, has reached Everest Base Camp. He completed the trek with a group of 23 fundraisers to raise money for Demelza, the children's charity that supported him and his family as a child.

Daniel Parsonage, 29, suffered a severe stroke while preparing for a summer carnival performance in Penarlâg, Flintshire, and doctors told his family to say goodbye. After months of physiotherapy and speech therapy he can now speak in sentences and walk short distances with support, and he hopes to dance again before his 30th birthday in March.
