Keepers at London Zoo hid pumpkins with favourite foods around the enclosures as a Halloween treat for the animals. The scent trails and hidden food encourage foraging and natural instincts, as part of an annual tradition during the zoo's 200th anniversary year.
A swan trapped between rocks on a Dorset beach during Storm Austen was rescued by passers-by and an RSPCA inspector. After being checked over by a wildlife charity and found healthy, the bird was released back into the wild at Christchurch.
