A swan trapped between rocks on a Dorset beach during Storm Austen was rescued by passers-by and an RSPCA inspector. After being checked over by a wildlife charity and found healthy, the bird was released back into the wild at Christchurch.
Community rallies to save bacon of escaped pigs
Pigs that escaped onto a busy road near Basildon have been saved from slaughter after locals raised almost £6,000 towards their care. Eight of the animals are being taken in by a sanctuary, where males and females will be kept apart and three have already been reunited with what appears to be their mother.
