Writer and producer Cefin Roberts has created Dinas Noddfa, a music and drama show that brings 1,500 years of Bangor's history to life inside Bangor Cathedral. The cast combines local choirs and pupils from Ysgol Glanaethwy, and the show opens on 30 October. Cefin describes the cathedral as a place of sanctuary that still offers a cup of tea, a food bank and quiet welcome today.
Jamie Jones, a pumpkin carver from Capenhurst near Chester, has become a viral hit with detailed carved portraits of figures including Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. He carves by shaving layers off the pumpkin's surface, and this year he took no paid work so he could enjoy experimenting with his designs.
A payphone kiosk at Dunsop Bridge in Lancashire, which sits at the geographic centre of Great Britain, has been given Grade II listed status. The KX100 kiosk was the 100,000th to be installed in the country and was opened in 1992 by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who made the first call from it.
