Residents at Friends Place care home in Reading have enjoyed regular visits from Midas, an eight-year-old German Shepherd cross who joins them for tricks, cuddles and garden walks. Staff say the visits bring companionship, happy memories and gentle activity to residents.
A cinema and leisure complex in Preston, Lancashire, has put six Dutch spotted sheep on its grass-topped roof to keep the lawn trimmed. The sheep come from Myerscough College and are kept safe by a fence and have a shelter and water, and the college hopes the females will have lambs in the spring.
