Two retirees who had both been widowed found love again at 88 after meeting at their local gym in Birmingham. Fred coached Barbara after her friend stopped coming, and the pair now spend most days together, keeping their own homes and independence.
David Carbert, aged 87, completed his 400th Parkrun at the Humber Bridge Country Park event on Saturday. He started running ten years ago so he would not sit at home, and he believes it has added years to his life. He plans to keep going until he reaches 500 Parkruns.
