Trevor Brooker, 88, of Beyton near Bury St Edmunds, has passed his English Language and English Literature degree with an upper 2:1 from the Open University despite a thyroid cancer diagnosis. He also became a great-grandfather on the same day he received his results.
A Kent hospital has started offering a pill-sized camera that patients swallow to check for signs of bowel cancer, avoiding a more uncomfortable procedure.
