Scientists develop ‘guided missile’ approach to target chemotherapy at cancer cells
Scientists at the University of Southampton are developing a way to carry chemotherapy directly to cancer cells using tiny particles called exosomes, aiming to spare healthy tissue. Early laboratory results have shown activity against cancer cells, including chemotherapy-resistant ones, and funding from PLANETS Cancer Charity and the Hospital Saturday Fund is supporting the next stage of research.
